The Wig Cayman 440 kayak is the first model from WIG, manufactured using the new vacuum infusion technology. This is an advanced technology that allows the production of ultralight and durable kayaks. In the production process, all reinforcing materials, such as carbon fiber, aramid, diolen and sandwich materials, are placed dry in the mold. Then, using a vacuum, the remaining air is removed from the materials and the mold, and the fibers are soaked in high-strength resin. Our technology differs from the conventional "wet" vacuum method in that it allows for even distribution of the resin in all layers, which leads to 30-40% higher strength of the kayaks while reducing their weight by 5-10%.
